Matchmaker: Joining Hearts is a sweet hidden object game that has you playing as a matchmaker with a gift for find just the right romantic matches. Once you've discovered a good pairing, you help the potential lovebirds to make each other gifts and to set up an unforgettable first date. The idea is very cute, just in time for Valentine's day, besides, it reminds of Dream Day games series. The graphics are done mostly in photorealism, and the tasks have you doing things like reassembling parts and putting things in their proper place.

Make a holiday not only for your sweethearts but also for lonely hearts and find a perfect match for them as well as bring romance into their lives, in the exciting hidden object game Matchmaker: Joining Hearts! In the game you assume the role of Helen Jones, a nice woman that moves to a resort town where even wind whispers love. However, there are still some lonely hearts that haven't found partners yet. An encounter with a new neighbor inspires you to start helping singles choose a partner employing your own highly efficient approach. Use your observation skills to spot requested objects and decide who will be the ideal partner for each person, and your imagination to create original gifts, and to organize an unforgettable first date!

Puzzles you have to solve, include finding pairs of identical items in side by side scenes, and locating a larger number of similar items to fill a "gift" - some challenging concealment. The hint system is cute, the Cupid points toward the object when you hover on him, and fires an arrow to identify it exactly if you click. The hover is free, the click causes it to recharge over 30 seconds or so. The game has the option of Timed or not, and you do get an improved score for rapid sequences of correct clicks.

Graphics are clean and bright. HO scenes have roughly 20 items which are very easy to find (to my mind), and mostly consistent with the story. Some modes of concealment are quite challenging as there are a few items too small to make out.

Over all, a moderately challenging HOG with good production values. Not a game for those who adore unreal challenges but I still believe many will enjoy it.

The whole story is saccharine sweet - exactly what one needs to relax and enjoy the holiday!
