Penny Dreadfuls: Sweeney Todd - Searching Through London

 

Due to some strange coincidence we've got another game released that is assosiated first of all with Tim Burton. Alice in Wonderland is followed by Penny Dreadfuls: Sweeney Todd, one of the latest hidden object releases. The game is developed by pixelStorm and published by PlayPond, and is full everything necessary to make the old story alive again.

 

 

You play as a police man trying to find the crazy barber by gethering the clues.

 

Those familiar with the story of Sweeney Todd know what the game is all about. For those who don't, here is the story in a short version - an insane barber kills people and his as insane girlfriend who bakes pies from the killed. 

 

The graphics are very impressive and detailed, so you really enjoy hanging around the streets and places. All of the items in the hidden object levels are relevant to the time and place. The story of the game is told in songs (musical right?) sang by the main characters. While they sing you can read the words and watch the floating pictures displaying what they sing about. But if you know the story plot, don't be afraid to miss something byskipping the cutscenes.

 

Almost right in the beginning you find the map of London. The map will be useful through all the game showing you the places you are in and where else you can go.

 

In each level you are given a number of clues to find. But you are to do a lot before you finally find those. Apart from clues you will also have a box with your inventory.

 

Inventory is good. You need to search forit in every possible place, because having the right things you know how to get what you need and sometimes it just helps understand what to do next.

 

You will two major places for a level. Each place offers several areas to explore. The sparkles will help you with determining those areas. Unless you play the challenge mode, where the hint recharges longer, the wrong clicks are punished and there are no sparkles.

 

You will have to solve a puzzle after every level, but those puzzles are piece of cake compared to figuring out where to go and how to use the inventory to proceed.

 

This game is not an easy one thus being a tasty treat for the gurus of the genre.
