Build-a-Lot is the first game of the series developed by Hipsoft. This strategy introduces you to the huge world of real estate and has you constructing, repairing, and demolishing houses and dealing with real estate sales and purchase. This game is the final prove that strategies and sim games feel themselves at home in the world of casual games. Simple and transparent gameplay, variety of tasks and optimal difficulty curve makes this game one of the amazing inventions!

Your first source of money comes from the houses that you own and let out for rent. So, if you have a spare lot, the first thing to do with it is to construct a house to further let it out. There are several types of houses each with different rent rate: starting from simple ramblers and up to posh mansions and castles. As you play through the game you will gradually unlock more expensive real estate opportunities.

 

What brings more variety into the game is the fact you will be moving from one city to another and build your real estate business in 9 cities. Aside from your own real-estate operations you will have to fulfill the wishes of each city mayor. You can hire and train more constructors, buy drafts of new types of houses and buildings. The only thing that you should generously invest your money in are building materials. Be sure to get them always in time because they are a must for every new construction or renovation. This sort of information is logically incorporated within the game interface, which makes the latter very user-friendly. It is easy to navigate and progress. So, Build-a-lot will have you earning a lot.

Build-a-lot 2: Town of the Year is the second part of the famous Build-a-lot strategy game and it immediately won top positions on large portals and gamers' acknowledgement. It's up to you now to choose the strategy whether you prefer to receive regular, but small income or to get it all at once!

This time the Mayors of 8 towns take part in the Town of the Year competition and they will invite you to complete their projects and help them get the towns ready for the contest. From Maple Creek to View Haven - you are welcome to build the town of your dream! Surely, each Mayor has his own plans and vision of his kingdom development, so your tasks on each level will be absolutely different. But all of them challenging, that's what I can say for sure!

Which is also great, you don't just build it all, your opinion also matters! After completing each stage you are asked to rate the town according to how much you liked working at it. And at the end of the game your final vote will determine the destiny of the competition, so try to be objective;)

Build-a-lot 3: Passport to Europe - is the third sequel to all of the Build-a-lot series' fans, and it won't make its predecesors be ashamed of it. Everyhting it has to offer will satisfy the taste of any strategy guru. This time you are going to have even more fun - go to Europe to develop the real estate business there. Travel from one country to another accomplishing different tasks in different countries at the same time. In each town you are given certain goals to accomplish. All of the goals are usually somehow connected with the place or not necessary.

Again you are allowed to paint the houses and customize other things. There are also run-down lots that are of no value till you make some renovating changes about them. Weather conditions effect the gaming process this time. Plus don't forget about different crises that may happen with the houses. You can see it by a flashing icon on the house.

Build-a-lot 4: Power Source means that your strategy skills are up to a new challenge - and a serious one this time! Blackouts? Not in these towns! The main principles of the engaging game play familiar to the series fans are preserved in the fourth part, though there are some new twists. For example, now you don't have to acquire blueprints for the buildings you need to construct - the buildings are just unlocked level by level. But the main innovation in the game is the power concept.

Now each building has its level of power consupmption which is reflected in the Power Meter showing the ratio of your town's energy supply and use. If you build too many houses and not enough power stations, you'll end up with a blackout while your houses stop bringing you income. There are two ways of avoiding the situation - adding Energy Savers to your houses and constructing Power buildings, starting with Wind Farms and up to Nuclear Stations. To add Energy Savers you'll need to train the necessary number of Technicians (those act apart from Workers you are already used to), and then you can add up to three Energy Savers to each house you own (provided you have enough materials, of course). Those are very similar to Upgrades present in all the previous games. But as your town grows Energy Savers are not enough, so you'll have to build some Power Stations. So, keep watching the Power Meter and try to plan the energy consumption and supply beforehand, otherwise you might get to a dead end.
